Drury inspires motivation by using art to connect on C-Street
For the thirteenth year in a row, a Drury class is partnering with The Kitchen, Inc. to create and inspire art with residents of the Missouri Hotel. The class is called Building Community through the Arts and its goal is to provide those living in the Missouri Hotel an artistic outlet over the course of two weeks, with a final exhibition on Friday, June 14 from 1-3:30 p.m. at Drury on C-Street located at 233 E. The back of beyond: Works by Vanessa Woods to be displayed at Drury’s Pool Art Center
A solo exhibition, including photographs, collages and films by San Francisco artist Vanessa Woods will be on display at Pool Art Center at Drury University from December 7 to January 28. The exhibition surveys the artist’s work from the past 2 years, including large-scale black and white photos, photograms, photo collages and two recent films: The Mansion of Happiness and The Chambered Nautilus. Student art organization to construct colossal campus nest
Drury University’s Art of Space student group will begin construction of a large-scale nest installation on the northwest corner of Sunderland Field. The group will begin building on-site on Sunday, April 15 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. All members of the Drury community are invited to assist. The piece will be constructed primarily of irrigation tubing and zip-ties, and will remain as a temporary retreat for students to enjoy. Continue reading

Drury’s Pool Art Center Gallery will feature the works of Amanda Small in a solo exhibit titled (Some)Where We Meet in March. The exhibit opens Friday evening, March 2 from 6-9 p.m. with an artist talk scheduled from 6-7 p.m. The exhibit will be on display through Friday, March 30. Continue reading
