Drury’s Edward Jones Center to host a Minorities in Business meeting
Drury University Communications Professor, Regina Waters, will serve as a keynote speaker at the October Minorities in Business Meeting. The meeting, which is hosted by The Edward Jones Center for Entrepreneurship, will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 4 from 5:15 – 7 p.m. at Q Enoteca, located at 308 W. Overcoming disabilities to earn a college degree
On a recent Friday, Drury student Jody Burrow was eating lunch near campus. The message in his fortune cookie read, “It’s a good time to finish up old tasks.” A friend replied, “You need to finish that reading for class.” While Burrow, 36, has short-term tasks to finish, by attending Drury he is finishing a task he began half a lifetime ago and overcoming obstacles most people never have to face. A famous artist’s visit to Drury to be commemorated on Thursday, Sept. 22
Rose O’Neill is best known as the creator of the Kewpie doll and as an accomplished artist and author from the first half of the twentieth century. 75 years ago, O’Neill visited the Drury campus and spoke to the Drury community in Wallace Hall. On Thursday, Sept. 22 at 7 p.m., Drury graduate Carolyn Fay will portray O’Neill’s character in the east parlor of Wallace Hall. Continue reading

The Charlie Daniels Band will perform live at the O’Reilly Family Event Center on Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011. Opening acts include Springfield native Chris Cavanaugh and Kansas City-based Noe Palma.
