SPRINGFIELD, Mo., Aug. 23, 2011 — Drury University has an opening day enrollment of 1,628 in the traditional Day School. That number is the second highest Day School enrollment of all-time. Just 5 shy of the record opening day enrollment of 1,633 set in 2010. Classes at Drury began Monday night, Aug. 22, at 5 p.m.
“Coming off of a record year, this is an outstanding opening day enrollment,” said Todd Parnell, Drury president.
“Even with a fragile economic recovery nationally, students continue to see the relevance of the education they’ll receive during their time at Drury and the connections they’ll have for the rest of their lives.”
In Drury’s College of Graduate and Continuing Studies (CGCS), students have registered for more than 32,500 credit hours, including more than 10,300 online. Registration for CGCS classes continues into next week; go to www.drury.edu/cgcs for more information.
Official enrollment numbers will come out later this fall following the census of Drury’s course delivery sites across southwest Missouri.
