SPRINGFIELD, Mo., March 14, 2012 — Drury junior advertising and public relations major Amanda Combs has been awarded a Vance and Betty Lee Stickell Internship from the American Advertising Federation (AAF). This summer, she will intern at IBM in Armonk, N.Y.
By earning the Stickell Internship, Combs is recognized as one of the top 15 AAF students in the United States. For more information about the prestigious honor, visit the Stickell internship website.
“Amanda is a recipient of one of the most prestigious student advertising awards in the nation,” said Dr. Regina Waters, chair of the Department of Communication. “We are thrilled that the American Advertising Federation recognizes her talent and has chosen to place her in an internship with IBM, a globally recognized brand.”
Combs, who will graduate from Drury in May 2013, will earn $4,000 for her work at IBM and a $1,500 scholarship for travel and living expenses.
Combs is the fourth Drury student to receive a Stickell Internship since 2005. Past Drury recipients are:
