SPRINGFIELD, Mo., Aug. 30, 2012 — Drury men will put on high heels, wedges and pink flip-flops on Tuesday, Sept. 4 for the fourth annual Walk the Lane in Her Shoes event. The event begins at 8:15 p.m. in the Findlay Student Center circle at the north end of Drury Lane.
Walk the Lane in Her Shoes is part of Drury University’s Sexual Assault Awareness Week. Activities include multiple self-defense classes for Drury students, faculty and staff. In addition, there will be speakers, students will be able to take a pledge to stand against violence against women and girls, and booths will be available throughout the week for students to sign up to volunteer. The event will also launch “Where Do You Stand,” a bystander intervention campaign as a part of Step Up! Drury University fraternities sponsor the event, but all male Drury students are invited to participate.
